We'd like to introduce you to Spike. He is an important (and unique) member of the Säjai® family. Read here to learn how Spike got his name, and came to represent Säjai and all the wise children.
Sage and Lizard were warming themselves in the morning sun and talking about Säjai. This is the name they gave the wise children, on the day the gentle wind had shown them that it can teach and guide. While Sage talked to Lizard about the wonders of wise children, Lizard watched, as the littlest lizard he had ever seen made his way, slowly, slowly toward them.
Shyly, the littlest lizard stopped in front of them. He raised his head, and he spoke in a squeaky, but confident voice that could barely be heard above the whisper of the wind. He said, "Sage and Elder Lizard, I would like to learn. I want to grow and gain knowledge and be wise. Then I want to share what I know with others, so they, too, can learn and gain this wisdom." Sage and Lizard looked at each other in amazement. The tiny lizard continued, "In order to learn, I must prove I am ready. And to prove I am ready, I need a name."
Lizard turned to Sage, and said, "By knowing he has much to learn, he has already shown his wisdom. Like you." Sage observed, "This lizard is small, yet he commands respect. Like you, Lizard. He needs a name, something unique that truly fits him.
Sage looked at Lizard.
Lizard looked at Sage.
And they both looked at the tiny lizard, standing before them.
They looked back at each other. "Spike!" they said in unison.
And he was so named.
